Well, I gotta admit sumthing...when I received this cd, I was preparing myself for the worst! I wasn't expecting anything good to be on this disc, and boy, was I ever shcoked! This album is very melodic and wonderful on the ears. The first thing that really caught my attention is the lead singers voice. First off, its a female voice! Thats sumthing you don't hear in too many bands! Her voice is just plain amazing and beautiful!! She sounds similar to sumone, but I can't put my finger on it. A few friends have said that she sounds similar to Holly McNarland. I'm not too sure if she does or not, but either way she has an amazing voice! This album has 13 tracks (isn't that ironic?!) and is 44:13 in length . This is one of the best cds I've heard this year! Everything from the guitars to the drums to the bass sounds tight and well put together. It sounds like this band has been together practicing their art for years. If I had to label the band, I'd say its kinda hippy hardcore. Its not heavy, but its not soft. Its a cd you can listen to with your parents in the room and still enjoy the music. It reminds me of Boy Hits Car. Its got that kinda sound to it. Every song on the cd is strong enough to be a single. Stand out songs are #3-Here I Come, #5-Predictable, #7-What I Wanna Do, #11-Water, and #13-Torn Apart. Torn Apart sounds like a page out of Godsmacks Voodoo. The song has the most beautiful poetry I've heard. This is just an all round awesome cd! Its not too often that it leaves my cd player. Its the kinda album that gets your foot tappin and you feel that you can sing along to the lyrics, even though its your first time listening to the album! If anybody gets the opportunity to see this band live or to buy their album I strongly suggest that you do it. It shouldn't be too long until 13 Flowers breaks outta the underground and into the mainstream (and it all started with Verbal Diarrhea!!).
