Who are you and why am I interviewing you?
my name is john daniel garcia, i play bass, guitar, sing, and i'm learning drums. i did backup vocals and guitar for awkward silence www.mp3.com/defective_kid i also played bass on the recording since we had trouble finding a bassist.i don't know why the fuck you all are interviewing me. especially since the band broke up and all. but we had fun. untill our drummer fucked us over.
Tell me about the band.
we (luis,a friend from rhode island, and i) started this band (awkward silence) before luis came down for the summer. we were gonna be an emo band, but we decided emo started to suck and get boring, so we just took a que from our partying and became the kinda pop-punk band we were. also, i'm working on a comic book about the band. it's a story of a band writing songs, getting mad at each other, the neverending search for a bassist, and eventually being screwed over by the drummer. it's a tale that must be told.
Whats the scene like in your town?
what scene? we were the only punk band. there's like, some band that's stuck in the '80s and a shitload of tejano bands here. there's also some country bands, i think.
What local bands are worthy of an interview with Verbal Diarrhea?
there aren't any local bands hereanymore. but i'm moving to a bigger city in august, so i'll be on the look out.
How many country bands are in Texas?
too fucking many. there are good ones, but the majority are shitty. i don't really like country, except for the older shit.

What would a day in your life consist of?
i wake up, go to school, get out, chill out, play guitar or bass, get on the computer like the computer nerd i am, and then go to sleep. i go out sometimes, but only for like, high school sports games and shit, since i don't participate in anything. i'm a fucking bum.
Any peircings and/or tattoos?
one tattoo on my arm of a skull. i need more tatts, though. i'm addicted.
What bands have influenced you and why?
green day and pantera. i guess green day just cuz they kick so much ass and pantera cuz they're fucking heavy as shit.
Whats the most disgusting thing that you've been a part of?
i'm not really a part of disgusting things, but i'm around some. like one time my friend puked on this one dude i know. it was funny. other than that, i pissed on some dude.
Whats the best concert that you've been to?
coal chamber. they fucking rocked hard. either them or cigar www.cigartheband.com i set up the cigar show cuz awkward silence was supposed to play, but the whole "drummer screwed us over" thing happened.
What's the stupidest rock album you ever heard/bought?
all of limp bizkit's albums except the first one. and simple plan. simple plan suck big hairy donkey balls.
If you could party with anybody thats dead or alive, who would it be and why?
all of green day or all of pantera. cuz i love their music. or jimmy buffett in the '70s. cuz buffett's goddamn awesome.
What rock star deserves the biggest smack and why?
any new "punk" bands that are nothing but boybands with guitars. and good charlotte. i fucking hate good charlotte.

i used to , but i got jaded real fucking quick. i was like, really against it, but there's not a goddamn thing i could do about it, so fuck it. let it go on and shit. just leave me out of it.

nope. i'm not that talented. i have some friends who can fart on command. crazy bastards.
If you were a rock star and you could have five things waiting for you after a show in a private dressing room, what five things would you have back there?
alot of upside down 7up, clove cigarrettes (djurum splash is awesome), guitar strings cuz i always bust them, a couple of hot chicks, and beer. beer's alright as long as i don't drink too much, i like it just to unwind once in a while. i'm not straight edge.

fred durst or our old drummer.

why do you hate good charlotte? cuz they fucking suck, that's why!!! why do you talk alot of shit about the drummer? because we had a tour booked and he left without telling the band. and i'm fucking bitter about, even after a half a year has passed. i'm very fucking bitter. what was supposed to be my first tour, having fun with friends, playin the songs i helped write, all fucked up by one bastard.
