When I made the rants page, I thought I'd just steal other peoples rants from websites and message boards. I never thought the first rant would be written by yours truly! Let me tell you a story. Like any other punkrawker, around March/April, you get alittle excited. Why, you ask? It's because you know that the Warped Tour is gonna be coming down the line at any time. Like most people, I got pretty excited when I saw the line up and saw the fact that it would be at Molson Park in Barrie (my closest venue). And then I got even more excited when I saw that there would be a pre-sale. And like many other people, I bought my tickets through this pre-sale. What I didn't realize was that (a) I would be charged in American money (why?!...I'm Canadian!!) and (b) the prices are outrageous! For two tickets, I paid $68.24 US dollars. Lets break that price down some. Shipping the tickets would cost $15.00. Shipping two tiny pieces of paper costs $15.00?!?! On top of that price there's a convenience charge of $14.00. Who's convenience is that exactly?! It's definitly not mine!! So if you take the original price of $68.24 and take away the $15.00 shipping and the $14.00 convenience, the cost would come to $39.24 US dollars. Thats still a fair amount of money if I have to pay in US dollars. I'm sure if I waited for Ticketmaster to put tickets on sale I would be paying the same price but in Canadian currency! I'd be totally fine paying $40.00 dollars for two tickets. I now have a new respect for ticketmaster. I though they were bad at ripping people off, but MusicToday and Warped Tour are far worst!! So now I got to pay $102.00 Canadian cold hard cash for two Warped Tour tickets! I know no one wants to boycott the Warped Tour, but boycott MusicToday.com and let Warped Tour know your feelings about their pre-sale! Make your voice be heard!
